DIETRICH JACKSON CONVICTED OF ROBBERY

On March 2, 2011, Dietrich Jackson was convicted of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and wearing a mask in public by a Newport News jury.  The jury recommended a sentence of 10 years, which was imposed by the Honorable H. Vincent Conway, Jr. on June 15.  Mr. Jackson, along with an accomplice, robbed the Hop ‘n’ Shop convenience store located in Denbigh.  Both individuals were wearing bandanas covering most of their faces; however, Mr. Jackson was identified by the tattoo on his neck.  No witnesses were able to identify the other assailant.  Mr. Jackson is still facing a pending charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
